Efficiency and quality for the environment

Many companies are taking steps to make their products greener.
The household detergent and cleaning product sector was one of the first to adapt to what some considered just a trend, but in reality, it’s becoming a new way of life for environmentally-friendly consumers.

The focus on the climate, the environment and green culture that respects our Planet has become part of our daily life in many ways, from the values we consider important to consumption behaviour.
As our society is based on a certain type of economy, everyone tries to do what they can by purchasing products that have a lower impact on the environment than those used in the past.

In time manufacturers of household detergents and cleaning products have found valid alternatives to chemical-based detergents, able to satisfy the majority of people in this market segment.

How companies in this sector innovated their offer, from the end product to packaging

Washing powders represent a choice that’s not only ecological, it’s also efficient as they’re based on citric acid, bicarbonate and percarbonate, excellent alternatives to the products we recognised, purchased and used habitually in the past, ones that don’t have what one might call a green soul.
Why is packaging so important? First and foremost because the packs used for these washing powders are made of paperboard, and the product dispensing system is made of the same material. Well-designed packaging will have a dosing system so it can be closed again to prevent the powder getting out and dispersing in the air, protecting the product from damp to maintain its cleaning power intact.
Thanks to a spout specifically designed for washing powder, dispensing is more precise, easier and cleaner.

The never-ending battle between liquid and powder detergents

It’s true that companies operating in the sector and large retail chains have always recommended washing powders as they’re more effective and have greater cleaning power than liquid detergents.
It’s also true that with washing “powders” there’s less volume and weight than for liquid detergents as they’re more concentrated (meaning an advantage for the environment).

It’s just as true though that, for practical reasons and ease-of-use, certain consumers such as single people are more likely to choose liquid detergents, as it’s simpler to pour the right amount of product into the washing machine (using the dosing cap).

To solve this problem Tacom came up with Pour and Dose, a practical dosing system inside the box that measures exactly the right amount of washing powder. There are many advantages with this simple solution:

  • you can use a very effective product for your washing;
  • you’re making an environmentally friendly choice.
