Dosing systems: the successful packaging solution

Many studies have shown how the packaging of consumer products (both foodstuffs and others) influences the choices potential customers make when shopping.
The colour and shape of the packaging and how easy it is to handle are important preferential factors, but often there is something missing, something that could put the manufacturer on the road to success.

What we’re talking about is the spout, the dispensing system that transforms a food carton into a complete product that’s:

  • stylish;
  • eco-sustainable;
  • easy to use.

Many consumers are willing to pay more for a product that’s simple to use, helps them save time, and makes their experience using it more enjoyable.

So why not offer this kind of solution to your customers for their pulses and cereals?
Including the spout in the pack will certainly make the product stand out from the crowd, and make it more appealing when people are choosing what to buy.

Packaging design with an eye to the future

For foods like seeds and pulses, the classic paperboard box is an optimal packaging solution.
These packs, although appealing to the eye, often have plastic or paper bags inside that can cause problems as, once open, it’s unlikely they can be closed hermetically again and worse still, they can tear and spill the contents.

Product design also takes these points into consideration: meeting the customer’s requirements, not only in aesthetic terms, but also from a functional point of view with a twofold solution.

As pulses come in many different shapes and sizes, we’ve come up with two different solutions: one is the classic dosing PAC spout while the other, for large grain products and to dispense more generous quantities, is called the CLOC spout.
Thanks to the pouring spout that’s folded directly into the packet, the size of the CLOC spout can be adapted to suit any grain size to give you all the advantages of the PAC spout (hermetic seal, keeps the product fresh).
